So what exactly is Internet of Things and how does it affects us?
We will cover more about it in this blog below!

Understanding Internet of Things (IoT)

Internet of Things (IoT) is a massive network of objects and devices that are connected through a network and they gather and exchange data via tools such as sensors in an environment that they are being operated in.
For example, smart home appliance devices such as smart light switch that we can control with our smartphones regardless of our location!
Another example, is the FitBit watch which can monitor our health status!

Wow! Convenient isn’t it? Imagine the limitless number of potential things that we can utilize IoT to do!

Usage of IoT in the healthcare industry

Do you see the capabilities of IoT which can provide a wide range of healthcare services as well?
Definitely I do, and I am also looking forward to what other healthcare services can IoT provide as well in the future!
Exciting isn’t it?

Security concerns?

Every single thing has its pros and cons. Sad truth is, the downside for IoT is that it is vulnerable to cyber attacks. Not a single IoT system will ever be 100% secure which is why building a system which can be robust enough to endure a security breach/attack is important in order not to disrupt the flow of the IoT system. It is common to hear cyber news of data leak to hackers due to their hacking. This in other words, disrupt our daily living. Therefore, ensuring the security credibility of the appliance is important and businesses must find ways to offer uninterrupted operation and functionality of their product, even if a part of the network is under attack from hackers.

Conclusion

IoT can bring us convenience in many aspects of life which ultimately helps to ease our life and solve our problems! Businesses can definitely venture into IoT opportunities that can cater to their customers.

Supporters simultaneously doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge together

A successful viral marketing campaign that took the world by storm was the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge campaign. Started out in 2014, the purpose behind it was to raise awareness for a disease known as with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) disease and just within two months, the campaign was so successful and it has raised over $100 Million in funding for research to combat the disease. See how powerful viral marketing is?
So why do people and businesses continue to leverage on viral marketing to build awareness on a local & international scale?

Cost-effective
Viral marketing enables personnel & businesses to promote their brand or content easily to their target audience with a low cost that excludes advertising costs as advertising is usually done by the target audience who shares it around with other people to raise awareness.

When a brand goes viral, generally more people will be discussing about the brand which instantly helps to boost brand recognition and increase the credibility if it’s good. Thus, developing the trust factor that people have towards that particular brand and it will motivate more people to discuss and talk about it with even more people.

Exponential growth and reach

When one person spreads the word about a particular brand or content to another person, it can spread to two personnel and from there, the number of personnel spreading the particular brand or content multiplies and the reach can be compounded and grow exponentially at an alarming rate. Example of Paid Search Marketing

Some smaller scale businesses might not be able to afford to capitalize on this strategy yet due to the costs involved that might strain these businesses. However, the results PPC that can dish out can even better than SEO when more money is being paid when using PPC.
Paying 100 instances for PPC definitely increases the leads generation for your website/business and potentially has a higher chance of generating higher sales revenue.
